The Mannan Foundation is inspired by the late Professor Muhammad Abdul Mannan, who was born in rural Bangladesh and managed, through education, to become a Professor of Education in the nascent Bangladesh.
Through his experience growing up and as a Professor, he was able to understand the importance of education in improving oneself and society.
The vision for the Foundation was realised through Prof. Mannan's wife, his four daughters and two son-in-laws, who want to empower communities in rural Bangladesh through the English language, education and commerce.
The long term aims of the Foundation are as mentioned above, but also to improve and deliver local medical services (2 of Prof. Mannan's daughters and 1 of his son-in-laws are doctors) as well as giving communities in rural Bangladesh the opportunities to sell their products internationally (1 of Prof. Mannan's son-in laws is a business consultant).
